If you are lost and in need of help even after reading this guide please pm a staff and they will help you as much as they can.

HOW TO UPDATE YOUR PROFILE
This section is about how to Update and change your profile.
How to change your avatar
Now I am assuming that everyone here knows how to change their avatar but I don't want to make an ass out of myself and you. So To change your profile image aka Avatar you'll do the following profile--> Edit profile-->Avatar--> and make sure the Use only the Uploaded/Linked is selected. You upload your own image by clicking the link that says Uploaded/Linked Your image is saved and you now have your own image. Not the default. It is recommended to save the link of your image in Photobucket or somewhere else as this site will not save the link. Make sure to save after everything is done.
How to update your personal Information
This is the next tab over from the Avatar Called Personal You can change the following
Personal Information
Display Name
Change this to the name of your character
Email
Edit who can see your email on the forum in the Privacy Tab.
Add personal email here Edit
Password
This is the password you use to log in to all forums tied to this ProBoards Global Account.
Change Password here Edit
Gender
Male Female
Location
Do not give out your personal informtaion
Website Name
You may display your own website
Website URL
You may display your own website
Most Recent Status
Shows up as personal text in your miniprofile and profile.
Signature
Preview
Personal Notes
Only you can see your personal notes.

If trapped what class
Relationship Status
Is your character dating? yes or no again NO personal information
If it wasn't clear please do not post your real location and or any personal information. You don't need some old man knocking on your door...now do you?
How to add to your social.
We Really recommend that you leave this section blank. As stated before and in our rules we don't want anyone giving out their personal information. So we wont be giving a guide on this. Sorry....
How to change your Settings
Now here you can do the following, Create a posting template for quick use in quick reply and enable save draft among other things.
This is the tab after Social.
You can change the following
Forum Preferences
Show Participated
Displays the participated button next to the navigation tree.

Displays member signatures with their posts.

Displays the available theme of your choice.

Sets how you would prefer to see timestamps.
How to Set your Privacy settings
Now this we like cause you can keep things rather private so you can fill out the social if you want but only as long as you have settings that protect you. You'll find the Privacy Tab after Settings.
You can do the following with this
Who Can View My Profile
Everyone Members Only
Invisible
Makes your online status invisible to all users except certain staff.
Yes No
Email Visibility
Shows your email address in your profile on the forum.
You can set this to friends and staff only or staff only.
Remember no staff will ask for any personal information but you shouldn't have a email here at all. Keep it private
Gender Visibility
Shows your gender in your profile and miniprofile on the forum.
Yes No
Birthday Visibility
Shows your birthday and age in your profile on the forum.
You can hide your date of birth or make up a fake one.
Change Birthday
I am 13+ years old and want to change my account's birthday.
Do not give out your real age, but please be above 13+ thanks.
Activity
Selectively share your activity with others.
Never share your activity with anyone. Keep your life private from strangers....
Member Block List
Search members to block their interaction with you on the forum.
Note: you cannot block conversations from staff members.
Default Avatar
You can use this to block users if they are bothering you.
How to Adjust your Notification
This tab is just after Privacy, and really doesn't need much changes. You can set to how you want to receive your notifications, We recommend that you keep it all on the forum. But you can receive notices by email also.

How to use the Site In this section you'll learn how to use the site, how to post and what each tab is for. Please read through at your leisure thank you
About the Tabs
So we have the following Tabs that you can use
Home Help Search Calendar Members Profile Messages My Page Game Stats ToS Shop Bank RankWatch
Below is a description of each tab and what they do. Some are obvious but others are not.
The Home Tab
The home tab is simple and easy, you can click on this tab and no matter where you are in the site you'll be directed to the home page.
The Help Tab
You can click on this tab and it will take you off site to the help page in Proboards.
The Search Tab
This tab takes you to the search page of the site. You can type in a thread you want to find or anything and it should direct you to what you are looking for.
The Calendar Tab
This tab lets you see any upcoming events planned.
The Members Tab
This tab lets you see all members of the site and tells you what group they are in.
The Profile Tab
This tab lets you access your profile and make changes.
The Messages Tab
This tab lets you see any messages you may have or may want to send.
My Page Tab
This is a Custom page, this page will let you see your profile quickly, Staff that you can click on, Booked marked threads, recent post and Upcoming events. Use this as you see fit.
The Game Stats Tab
This is a Custom Page, this page lets you see the updated information of the In game. you'll see what cities are locked, see the NPC's and see how many people are part of what group. You'll also see story updates here. So check this often.
The ToS Tab
This is a Custom Page, this holds the rules of the site. Now hopefully you have read the rules and accepted them. No member can post without accepting the rules. BUT if you just skimmed to the bottom and accepted we have placed them in the Navigation so you have easy access. it be nice if you read them...thanks
The Staff Tab
This is a Custom Page hidden from the members, staff will find the tab in the Staff Board. Please book mark this page so you can have easy access to it.
The Shop Tab
This is the Shop tab, you'll have easy access to the site shop to upgrade your character, buy a house and so on. S.K runs the shop so make sure to book mark his board and receive updates.
The Bank Tab
This Tab lets you access your bank account and deposit money and or withdrawal money. Its better to deposit when you can as you earn 4% interest. So your money will grow.
The RankWatch Tab
This tab is known as the Rankwatch tab. When you reach the right post count you'll be notified of the next level your character has achieved.

How to post on the Site In this section you'll learn how to post on the site, How to level your characters and how to earn money or as we call it Echo.
How to Post on the site
If you are not used to a site forum then you may get a little lost when if comes to posting In character.
Now In Character means you post as your character not as yourself. You will only post in the Mystic Board as your character.
Now when you are posting as your character you'll post and sometimes your character will move around the Mystic board. How this works is if you want to move from say the Lower Capital to an Inn, you would post leaving the Lower Capital. End and post it, then post the rest of your post entering the Inn.
This would be the same if you are with a group or not.
it would be something like this
Posting in the Plaza at the Lower Capital
Pixie sighed, rubbing the back of her head as the group she partied with argued about a quest gone wrong and whos fault it was. Really all she wanted to do was head to an in and book a room before it sold out. "Guys we can argue later, let's just go to the inn and book a room to share...before they book out." Huffing the other members nodded and together they left the plaza in the lower quarter of the capital. [submit post here]
Posting at the Inn
[start rest of post here] Pixie opened the door and winced at the long line to check into the inn. Just from looking at it she could tell that she might not get a room. Sighing she told the others to find a table and to wait. Hopefully they get a room...if not it was going to be another night of little rest.[end post here]
So Pixie went from the plaza to the inn, and she posted it that way.

How to Level your Character
As you read through this Guide you'll see Information about Stats, characters and such. This topic is just about leveling and how it works.
As this is a MMORG and we can't earn points to level like you would in a real game. We have developed the posting Level system.
This means that your character will level as you post.
We are utilizing the rankwatch system to help us inform you when you have reached your next level as long as the Level bar so you can keep track of all your post. When you reach the next level your level bar will rest and you'll be given 14 points to add to your Characters stats. Please note that the posting required it rather high as we are factoring in Out of Character post.
How to Earn Echo (money)
Now as you saw we have a shop, its empty right now but S.K is working on getting product out there. But well you wait you can earn money by posting in the Mystic Board. That is the only place you can earn Echo.
As you noticed we are calling it Echo, that is the name of the money in Mystic Guardian.

The Friend Guide
This is a quick and simple guide for you, it will tell you how to add friends. Or known in PB as Followers.
How to Add Followers aka Friends
You'll want to go to your friends profile page, from there you'll see the button called Follow. Click on this button and you will be following them. They will receive a notice stating that you are following.
In your own profile you'll see off to the side on who is following you and who you are following. You can unfollow anyone at anytime. you'll do this the same way you would follow someone. |
